TRADITIONAL HANDMADE SOURDOUGH

Born from a love of sourdough and a limited supply in the local region, Kieren and Lara Weber set out to make their own. Starting with building their own wood fired oven and studying the art of sourdough, Kieren and Lara use traditional methods and only the best organic ingredients.

You can taste the time in every loaf

At Palms Artisan Bakery, we believe in simplicity, and respect for Mother Nature.

We use the simplest, purest, ingredients.

Every loaf takes around 26 hours to create.

Each loaf is lovingly created by hand. We cultivate and nurture our starter or “mother”.  We mix and knead our ingredients together, then divide it into individual loaves. We then cool it and let it rest, allowing it to prove for 24 hours.  This is where the magic happens, and the bread comes to life.  We shape it, prepare it for the oven.  Finally we bake.

We follow time honoured, traditional methods.  Never rushed, always measured.
